About This Spot

Stepping into La Oliva Tapas Bar, nestled quietly on a lively stretch of Roma Norte, feels like discovering a cherished hideaway where time slows just enough to savor small, meaningful moments. This intimate spot embraces you with a gentle hum of conversation and the occasional clink of glasses, drawing you into a relaxed rhythm that encourages lingering over conversation and shared plates.

With just a handful of tables, the atmosphere is cozy and thoughtfully unpretentious—a space where the warmth comes as much from the attentive, friendly faces behind the bar as from the inviting glow of low lighting. It’s a place where wine flows freely, not as a showpiece, but as an integral part of the evening’s unfolding narrative, perfectly paired with bites crafted for sharing and discovery.

The menu feels like a quiet love letter to Spanish-inspired flavors reimagined for the present moment. Expect a carefully curated selection of tapas and small plates that invite curiosity—a slice of baguette topped with jamón ibérico, a meticulously arranged cheese and charcuterie board, or prawns gently sautéed in fragrant garlic and chile oil. These dishes aren’t just food; they’re invitations to slow down, savor texture and aroma, and connect. The thoughtful drink list, featuring vermú and a house red alongside local artisan beers and delicate teas, complements every bite without haste.

Though the bar sits on a bustling main street, inside it cultivates a space of calm intimacy where the mood is never rushed. It’s a spot perfect for those who seek a relaxed yet attentive environment—a place to drop in for a brunch bite that feels like a quiet reward or orbit toward evening for a casual, convivial night out. The friendly, knowledgeable staff further seal the experience with a human touch that encourages repeat visits not out of obligation, but genuine desire.

La Oliva Tapas Bar is one of those rare spaces where the simple act of sharing food and drink creates an authentic moment, one that lingers long after the last glass is emptied.

Beautiful spot for a quick bite and delicious eats. I just had brunch but it was awesome! Want to come back for tapas and wine :)

Adorable hidden gem in Roma. Small and intimate 6 table tapas bar. Super polite and attentive owner. Everything was tasty and reasonably priced.

Adorable tiny place. Lovely people. Spanish-inspired, so try anything with jamón ibérico (salda, baguette, plate). Tiramisu was a perfect ending.

Cute spot with a wide selection of tapas. The bottles of wine are between 400-800 pesos, which is compared to so many other places in Mexico City a great deal. Since the restaurant is located on the Main Street it can get noisy at times. Nonetheless I’d go back anytime.

Such a great spot! One of the best cheese and charcuterie boards I’ve ever had and everyone working there was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to come back!
